The art of painting on paper…

When you are an artist and designer, you think a lot about the type of materials and tools you are going to use when creating or painting something. I like to have several options and that is why it is essential to have a good sketchbook or paper sketchbook, where I like to experiment with acrylics in various techniques and styles. I use it as if I were painting on canvas, but painting on paper always makes the experience different and I like it a lot.

Creating and experimenting on different surfaces, trying new and mixed techniques makes you discover new styles and ways of expressing your art, the most used are canvas and paper.

These are some photos taken by me, from my sketchbook, most of the works are colorful abstract, and for now I have only used acrylics, I like to work on paper, but for this technique a medium to high weight is recommended, for better absorption of the paint that is acrylic.

Of course, most artists prefer to use canvas instead of paper, since canvas is a hard and firm material and you have the confidence to be able to use all kinds of techniques on it, while when we use paper, regardless of its weight, we are predetermined to use few techniques and, above all, more dry than wet, since we do not know how it will hold up and what result will be given if we paint with oils, watercolors or acrylics on a paper that is not suitable.

Canvas vs. paper, thousands of uses and techniques that lead us to experiment and create through a surface without limits, where color is the only protagonist.
